Wow, that is some heavy ice! I like how a small part of the branch is visible, it brings more interest to the shot, I feel. Lovely capture of winter!

I love finding ice over rivers like this. The way it deposits is so interesting and leads to some cool molten formations as you have caught here. Even better when you can get some low-slanting sun coming through. Very well done and I can see why it’s a favorite.

Thanks Judi, Bill and Kristen! It’s funny that you never see anything other than a beautiful picture of these. In general, the place is always most terrible bush or big rocks where your leg almost breaks when you try to get to the shooting location. Of course, a boot full of ice water and other nice things that often happen to me
