Description
Eastern Spinebills are a very small, thumbsized honeyeater that are quite itinerant at my place. They seem to favour my paddock as the temperature drops.
I have spent many years converting my horse paddock into bushland and I am greatly rewarded by these cute visitors.

Wow!! Wonderful! I love both the crops. The wider view shows some very artistic foliage. I’m not sure if it is a see-through or if you have manipulated it, but either way it works for me. The BG is lovely and leaves me wondering if it is a replacement or a staged BG in a setup, but either way it works! The bird looks very intent and its pose fits the perch very well.
You’re heading into fall/winter there, aren’t you?
Beautiful little bird in a delightful pose. Lovely flower and greenery, and sweet BG.
The light branch appearing to come out of it’s back end is unfortunate and distracting to me.
Not sure what to suggest…darken it? Make it green? SOMEthing!
Beautiful image!
Thankyou @Diane_Miller ! The background is as shot. Sometimes I get lucky. However, the red grevillea flower is wired onto a stick and like a honeyeater magnet.
Both are beautiful, Glennie. I slightly prefer the first, mainly because of the green leaf crossing the stamens in the second. The supporting branch really doesn’t bother me, though I could see darkening or facing it a bit.
Beautiful image, the background, the subject and the delicate colors are all very nice. I do like the tighter crop better… but both have their beauty.
