Hi Steve, I immediately thought of motherhood when viewing your photo. The outstretched wing strongly implies she’ll protect them from whatever comes their way. Framing is very nice too and all the greenery sets off the whites beautifully.

Steve, I am moved by the pose of the female egret. The outstretched wing has a protective feel about it. Her gaze at the hatchlings suggests total attention on them. I can’t tell if they are begging to be fed, but they seem well-fed. Everything about the composition supports the intimacy of the moment. I would like this hanging on my wall. It is lovely.

A very nice family image, Steve. Once again, you came up with a very good composition. The only thing I might do is clone over the brighter dead branch in the lower center of the frame that tends to pull my eye away from the chicks.

Thanks Guys

Your eye is super much better image

Hi Steve
This is an outstanding photograph.

Great to start with. Dennis’ touch up suggestion makes it that much better. Great pose, setting, greens, whites. This is hitting all the right buttons Steve.

Definitely speaks to a sense of parenthood; tending to the young. Good pose on the adult and I think all the greenery around the birds enhances the image as well. Great job.

Thanks again everyone
I agree that @Dennis_Plank added to the image very much.
I made three trips to this nest: once in early spring for the eggs, then on my way south to see the hatchings, and a few weeks later, on my way home, much larger toddlers learning to fly.

I want to try to do a project with the group of images I have of this family
Thanks
