Very nice job on this image, Peter. It’s also a bit of a treat, in that I rarely see images posted with a youngster at this stage of development for some reason. Excellent control of the whites and a nice setting.
I played with the crop a bit on this as it felt to me that the birds were a little too close to the center horizontally and I thought it might be possible to get rid of the mud bank along the bottom.
Here’s what I came up with:
Hi Peter - this is excellent! Perfect handling of the whites, love the reflections and poses, and the OOF BG. I like Dennis’s idea on the crop.
REally fine work!
Peter: a very well seen and well captured momemt. The whites are controlled and detail has been maintained. I like Dennis’ idea of moving the birds off center, but think hte crop moves the head of the relected bird too close to the bottom of the frame. Cloning away the bottom most mudbank might be a good option.
Hi Dennis, Sandy & Richard
Than you all for the comments. Dennis’s recrop looks nice.

Peter:
Very nice look at these egrets.
I think both crops are fine. The contrast between the white birds and the green back the superb. Excellent detail. Excellent behavioral image. Keep up the good work!
