Hi Peter,

A nice series and the dark BG certainly makes the egret pop put from the BG. Whites are exposed perfectly and for artistic purposes, I find the dark BG is fine for this subject. Whites are exposed perfectly and poses 1 and 3 are ones that I like the best…Jim

HI Peter, a fine series with nice poses and exposure. I like the puffed out look. Looks really nice against the dark background.

Hi Jim & Allen
Thank you for the comments.
Peter

Great fluffing poses, Peter. It should have been followed by some nice preening poses as well. I like your handling of the whites on these images. Very well done.

Not much to say other excellent series of images, and I agree with the other comments, especially your handling of the whites. I like no. 2 ever so slightly over the others.

Excellent – all said above! Looks like nature’s blow-dry job. I wouldn’t mind a little more canvas on the bottom if you have it but that’s a small point.

Peter - very nice series! You handled the tough whites perfectly.
I guess I prefer #2 with the most fluff.
All are excellent - fine work!

Hi Dennis, Jim,Diane & Sandy
Thank you for the kind words. I see more of this type of fluffing in Snowys, it’s just nice to see the bigger Egrets doing it. Diane, there wasn’t any more room in the lower frame, because this 76 year old guy sometime has a problem with holding the lens level.
Peter

I can relate to lens-holding challenges! I cheat in the darkroom by distorting or adding canvas. It’s scary good.

Excellent handling of the whites and great feather detail. I like the second as it’s puffed up the most.

Thank you for the comment.
