I was lucky to find this Egret on April 21, at 9:30am in the back of Rocky Neck State Park. It seems the number of bird of any kind are way down the spring.

Technical Details

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 700mm, -2EV, 1/1600, ISO320,. The shot was cropped in DXO PhotoLab 7 by 55% and I used 1 control point to bring out the green around the Egret’s eyes.

Beautiful, Peter. A great pose from the Egret and your exposure on the whites is excellent. I also like the background with the calm water in front and all those vertical reeds reinforcing the upright pose of the egret. Very well done.

I agree with the others here Peter. This is such an elegant and very well composed image. The soft colors and sharp details are outstanding. I also like the reflection of the BG reeds in the water.
