Ever Joyful

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Joy just keeps blooming and blooming. Had to bring it inside to my bathroom “studio” and decided to shoot it high key for a different look.>=))>

Specific Feedback

Besides the high key BG (a piece of scrap mat board) I added some negative dehaze and also applied a 25% opacity oil paint layer for a little texture. I think it gives the image more appeal but your thoughts always welcome.

Not much to say other than: “Fantastic!” One of your finest.

Very nice, Bill. I like the high-key approach.

Nice job on the high key version, Bill. I like the oil paint texture on the background and the blooms. It might be interesting to mask it out on the stems.

Oooh! A lovely gentle, boldness about this Bill! The high key effect has worked well as has your processing for a little texture.

Hi Bill,
This is flat out gorgeous! The high key effect works beautifully and I love the subtle color palette with the dehaze. This is quite lovely as presented; absolutely no suggestions from me.

Oooh, love the high-key look and the colors. The oil painting filter is nice, but maybe brush a bit off of the stems. You can tell the texture is the same in the background and on the green stems. It’s not noticeable on the flowers because they had their own texture to start with, I imagine. I think if you brushed it off the stems, it would give this more depth. Just a thought.
