Mmmmm, sensual lovely shapes and foldings here. Great detail in the sand itself - B&W is sush a great rendering for patterns like this, eh? I love the tones you achieved. My eye is drawn to the LL corner where there is a brighter area, which I believe is away from the main event in the center leading left to right on a diagonal. I wonder if a crop would reduce its presence, making the center piece more … center? And/or, burning that one brighter area might do the trick. I really like how you got the focus front to back, giving the feeling of endless ripples.
James, this is an excellent “collection” of lines, shapes and textures. The frame filling sharpness adds well to the abstraction here. As a very minor suggestion, have you tried for a bit more texture in the brightest region, upper left?
I really like the composition here – not easy to do with dunes. I love the dramatic ripples and their variations, and the detail throughout. I think the area of lower contrast toward the LL could be punched up just a bit with a soft-edged mask. My preference would be for just a bit more detail in the very dark shadow area.
