Image Description

I visited Costa Rica with a friend in 2023 with the sole purpose of photographing wildlife. This image was taken at the Ara Manzanillo Great Green Macaw Restoration Site. The Great Green Macaw is critically endangered in Costa Rica and the Ara Manzanillo Restoration Site is raising these beautiful birds and re-introducing them into their natural habitat. This image was taken of birds in the wild, however, they show up at certain times during the day when the site feeds them.

I would love to get both general and specific feedback on this image.

Pertinent Technical Details

I processed this image in Topaz AI (both noise reduction and sharpening), Lightroom and in Photoshop. My editing in photoshop centered on darkening the background and slightly brightening the birds, so they would stand out.
Canon R5 on a tripod. Canon 600mm L F4.0 lens, ISO 1250, F4.0, 1/1600 sec

Excellent image of gorgeous birds! We were not so fortunate as to find them when we were there.
The colours are exquisite, along with fine detail, poses and action.
That diagonal branch in the ULQ is a little distracting, and might go away, if that fits your vision.
A really enchanting image!

Lovely action packed image. The colours of the Macaw are amazing. Blue on top, yellow underneath wings, green and red and turquoise.

I like Sandy’s idea of removing the branch in the upper left corner.
