The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I found this caterpillar resting on the Pickerall Reed plant in my pond. It’s striking but gentle colors sent me back inside to get my camera. Luckily, it didn’t move. Over the next couple of days, it ate most of this leaf and much of a couple of others, so getting it while it was sitting still seems lucky.
Specific Feedback
Since there’s nothing in the background, cropping to a pano might be good.
Technical Details
R5, 180 mm macro, 1/250 s, f/8, iso 800, tripod. A 15 shot stack for full length sharpness on the Caterpillar.

Nice look at this little guy, Mark. Such details captured in him. I don’t think I have ever seen a caterpillar this color before. Yes, a pano may work even better. Well done.
Mark, for a less than glamours looking creature there is certainly some pure beauty to this image for sure. As far as your comment about luck. I’d say it’s where us photographers find it. It does not come looking for us, that’s for sure. I think the pano idea will surely tighten the viewing point and look “cleaner” if you will, the image is excellent as presented IMO…
Mark: Great find in really nice conditions to allow the stack to bring out all the fine details. A pano crop would be a nice fine tuning but I’m OK with it as is. Well done.>=))>
