Feeling Left Out

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Red and Green Macaws, Brazil
2 snugglers and one jealous one

HUGE crop - the birds were barely more than a speck in the viewfinder. I’m amazed that there is any detail at all.

Specific Feedback

Does this work? or are the birds too small for any interest?

Every once in awhile a lot of pixels does help, Sandy. I think you chose just the right crop with nicely identifiable birds small enough that any imperfections aren’t going to show. Letting the tree dominate and treating the Macaws as decorations worked very well.

Hi Sandy, interesting environmental image showing where these birds like to roost. So yes I would say this is a keeper.

@Dennis_Plank
Dennis - try blowing it up (a lot).
The detail is quite good, even then…
