I’ve photographed this scene at a nearby area of farmland a number of times now in many different weather conditions. I like the line of trees and shoreline leading the eye to the small island. I thought that the graphic nature of the trees and particularly the sky in this one could benefit from a black and white conversion.

Bill, the trees and fence angling across the frame to that far clump of trees (island) look very good. Going b&w makes the scene seem very wintry. While I’m sure you worked hard to get the partial sunstar, it feels too “bright and cheery” for the rest of the scene for me, but that’s just me…
Yes, Bill, you get the feel of a real Dutch landscape. The B&W works very well for me. Maybe but that is just my feeling you could take the top of up too the trees on the left. You get rid of the sun in your image and more depth. Still I like it as it is.
