Flyover

I have been challenged lately to try and get some decent shots of bees in flight, using a flash, and my 100 mm macro lens. So I have had quite a few missed shots. I liked this one pretty well, with the position of the flowers.

Hi Shirley! Wonderful image! The bee and the flower are so sharp! The only thing I would do different if it were mine would be to just bring up the exposure and highlights a little , I think it would really make the bee stand out more. This is a great capture!

Looks like you got it, Shirley. This bee is perfectly stopped in action. The detail is fantastic and love how his wings are blurred giving him a great sense of action. I do like the soft lighting as it adds a nice feel to the scene, for me. Very nicely seen, captured and executed. Great job.

Shirley: This is a terrific capture and does not look flashed which is a very good thing IMO. My only suggestion is with regard to presentation. Because the detail in the bee and the flower are so good I would be tempted to crop tighter to give them even more prominence. Really excellent use of your rig and the delete button . >=))>

You hit this one dead on Shirley. The sharp details in the bee and the timing of the flower she is flying over was perfect. That is a awesome photo!!!

Shirley, this looks great. The details and sharpness of the bee and the flower show both off well. I like all of the surroundings as a “normal” view, that is, roughly the way we see it unaided by a long lens, binoculars, etc. This “wider view” is something that I’ve been trying more of this spring…

Excellent capture, Shirley. The details in both the Spiderwort and the bee are excellent and exposure is spot on. Very well done.
