On a foggy morning, I grabbed my camera and took the opportunity to photograph the trees shrouded in mist. I like the peaceful atmosphere in this picture.
I like the layering in this image, Stephanie. It really does a fine job of conveying the foggy conditions.
Two items: You put this in the Everything Else forum and it will probably get more attention in the Landscape forum. Since there’s no evidence of “hand of man” it fits there properly.
Second, I just wanted to remind you that there’s a limit of one post per day. No one’s holding a clock on people and you don’t have to wait for 24 hours to go by, but try to keep it to one each calendar day.
Let me know if you want this in Landscape. I really think it belongs there and I know it will get more and better critiques.
A gorgeous image – definitely belongs in Landscape!! You don’t mention processing and there are many nuances in today’s software. I think it might be interesting to compare just a tiny bit more detail in the darker trees, but just as an alternative, not as a criticism. Looking forward to seeing more work from you!!
Sorry, I haven’t quite figured out the structure of the website yet. It would be grateful if you could move the picture to the landscape category. Sorry for posting two pictures, I just didn’t think about it… Thank you very much for your advice.
I think you presented this veery well, I like the “panoramic” proportions and I think the exposure is spot on. The varying levels of grey to black in the trees adds interest and helps move the eye around the image. Well done!
I love this, Stephanie. The processing looks perfect to me. I like the layers of fog and clarity, and the dispersion of trees is really nice, with some diagonals and peaks and valleys. The only thing that I might be inclined to do if it were mine (oh I wish it were ome ) is perhaps heal/clone/remove the bit of tree in the fog on the left edge–IF that’s within your practice. Not a big deal either way, but the image has a serenity and simplicity (even with all of its layers), and that grabbed my eye.
Nice work. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Thank you for the suggestion—yes, it was difficult to crop the image on the left, so I decided to crop both trees on the left side. In landscape photography, the composition and structure of the image is not always easy
I really like the atmosphere, the layering, and the processing of your image. Stephanie. I might suggest a lille crop from the top for an even more wider aspect ratio. Lovely.
This is a great image. Amazing layers and atmosphere. I think this conveys the mood very well. I do think the trees in the bottom left are a bit dark; it might help to lift the blacks just a smidge.
