Friendly Finch

This little House Finch was munching on these berries and then saw me taking pictures and seemed to turn around to give me a better view!

Does the crop work? I also healed a branch that was going into the berries….can you tell?

Cute little thing! And clearly wanting to get back to the berries. You could give this a CW rotation to straighten things a bit - have the bird more upright. Even if it brings you in tighter it’s ok. The focus is a little soft, but it’s a charming scene so in some ways it doesn’t matter. I do see a good deal of fringing on the edges - Lightroom has a way to mitigate this under Lens Correction - you can use it with the eye dropper to remove the color on those edges and then the slider to expand or contract the correction. Hopefully the mobile version has this as well.

A lovely composition, Vanessa. I like the sunny winter light as well. The detail looks pretty good to my eye, but I’m looking at it on a laptop, so I’m not sure.

Hi Vanessa, it might be just a tad soft, but it doesn’t bother me. I love the framing and the pose of the bird. Nicely captured.

Pleasing colors and detail. The barely noticeable softness is not a problem.

The crop works for me - I like how the branch emerges from the corner. As for the censored branch,I might have spotted a slightly smudged leaf to the left of the lowest berry; but I wouldn’t have if you hadn’t mentioned the branch! This bird looks very pleased with itself and it’s a nice pose.
