Frozen Rock 2

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is a second photo, following up on my previous ‘Frozen Rock’ photo I uploaded for critique. The scene is from the same snowy hike on Mt. Olympus, and from another rock that showed itself in one of the clearings. I did manipulate the light considerably in post-processing, the main strategy being to reduce the exposure in the periphery of the image, in order to convey that sense of depth and immersion, just like what we felt while we were there … Compared to the original photo were light was quite flat, I like the bit of added drama here.

Neat! I love conifers blanketed with snow. Lots of depth and drama. The snow looks white enough in most spots, but the vignetting feels a bit heavy to me (just a personal thing). Not sure if you have room a the top for a bit more sky, but that could be interesting to experiment with.
