This is an old frame taken with my first DSLR but I thought the image appropriate for a contest depicting nature’s colors. I have a large print of this on our wall that I enjoy every time I look at it. Brutal honesty requested - Do you think this worthy of submission and do you have any suggestions? All comments welcome. >=))>

The colors are striking, subject clear and background blurred. Has an immediate impact. Do you have a vertical where the stem serves as a leading line that is not quite so centered in the frame?

That is a lot of color…
I personally find the purple clashes with all, but it certainly shows the range.

I love the colors and textures and the depth of field, Bill. If you have any extra room on top, I do think it’s a bit crowded up there. The surging energy of the oranges and reds just seem to want a bit more space. depending on the contest rules a bit of content aware fill could also take care of it.

All good on this Bill, except the cropping is awkward. I do’t think trying to make a vertical out of this will improve it in any way. What you might do is pull in the sides a bit and extend the top in a content aware crop.
