Gerbera Babies

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Spring actually came to our garden several weeks ago but these gerbera daisies are the first of these to bloom this year. I’ve been watching them the past few days and today one of the buds opened while the other is a little tardy. These are hardy little guys and have survived the past several cold winter freezes while other plants have succumbed. The flowers stick around for many days before fading so I may have more opportunities once the little brother opens up. >=))>

Specific Feedback

Had to use single capture again due to wind and was pleased that I got a few shots with little motion blur despite the relatively slow SS. Also added a slight vignette to tame the corners.

This is such a winner image Bill. Having both flowers in focus, with one fully open and the other getting started, works so well. The color contrast between the deep red of the flowers and the green leaves of the background is really good. Nice job.

Lovely! The composition is so nice and the BG leaves are very interesting in their own right, without competing. There is a 3D quality to the image, and the vignette is just suited to my taste. Can’t wait to see v2!

Hi Bill,
Superbly crafted image with the focus being spot on with the two colorful daisies. Red and green always seems to make for a wonderful color combination and this intimate landscape is no exception. The vignette also works quite well. No suggestions from me as this is beautifully done.

Bill, this is nicely dramatic with its mix of saturated reds and greens. The about to open bloom sets the stage beautifully for the full bloom.
