More Late Bloomers

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We have had an incredibly mild autumn and as a result there is still some flowering activity. These Gerber Daisies are usually one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring and then just seem to hang out in the summer. I suspect they just don’t like the heat but the cooler temps have stimulated a late bloom.

Specific Feedback

Had to clean up some minor flaws but this is pretty much as shot. Not sure exactly what the ground cover is with the small blue buds but I thought they were a nice complement to the main subjects.

Lovely composition, Bill. I really like the positions of the main flowers and the blue sets them off well. I could see toning down the bright greens to the left of the flowers a bit.

A very nice comp and you have a good eye for getting the comp just right. The light area to the left of the upper flower does not bother me, but you may want to darken it slightly and see what it looks like. Otherwise, a fine look at these coral red flowers…Jim

Bill, excellent crop as always. The colours of the gerberas against the green makes a beautiful contrast., and the little blue flowers add an elegant touch. I agree about toning down the light area on the left.
Brookings is known as the “home of winter flowers”, so I hope I’ll find some not ripped apart by our usual violent winter storms, which I LOVE.
Lovely image!

Such beautiful flowers, Bill. They sure don’t look like they were taken in the fall. The little blue flowers are a nice touch to compliment the reds. Excellent shot.
