The red beebalm was a hummingbird favorite all Summer. This little gal is getting the last of it
I really like the way she’s perched, Skip, and the image tells a great story. I think you could bring out the little bit of light in her eye and it would add some pop to the image.
Hi Skip, thanks for posting this very enjoyable image! Great pose, beautiful colors and that bee balm adds to the mix! Dennis makes an interesting suggestion about the eyes, though, very nice as is!
Nice work!

Hi Skip, I like the composition with the stem coming through the yellow flowers on bottom. Nice timing on the bird getting a sip of nectar. I like Dennis’ suggestion on the eye. An intriguing image.
I, too, like the pose and the story a lot. The background is also nice and out of focus. The image quality isn’t great when I open the photo. Is this a large crop? Additionally, while it is not always possible, I attempt to get the sun as directly behind my back as possible. That way, the bird is fully illuminated. In this situation, doing so would have helped light the bird’s eye and head. Looking forward to more!
As others have said, the unique pose and perch are a major plus in this image. Always nice to see something little different when it comes to Hummingbird images. Superb job on the color, detail, and composition.
