Tail Tale

Out of habit, I focused on the head of the bird. In this case the tail was the most important part.

A great tail flare, Skip.

I really like the tail flair but I think the head being in focus is important. If the focus was spot on the tail I think it wouldn’t be as balanced. That being said I always like a sharp eye. All in all a nice image.

Great pose you caught with that tail. I agree with Hali on the focus. Well done to focus on the eye while the tail still shines as the primary point of interest.

This looks rather cool. Fanning of the tail is difficult to capture. Good job on the DOF.

Thanks to all for your comments. Since posting this, I have learned that tail fanning is a fairly common characteristic of this species.
