Hi Shayne, this is a very cool image of the canyon. It has a real sense of depth (as in deep canyon) and triggers my fear of heights (good thing in this case). I like the subtle pastel sky too. I know there’s haze in the distance, but in this case, I think it helps the scene. Well done.

Fantastic shot, Shayne. I love how the first ridge makes a triangle and then meets with a second ridge that makes an opposite triangle and then the long side of that triangle pushes your eye out toward the beautiful lite canyon. Also each triangle has it’s own coloring that gives major contrast to this photo!!! To top it off, I love the small dead tree on the first ridge and the beautiful lines in the second ridge that also point to the canyon. What’s not to like!! Great job.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

That’s nice to hear David! It was my 4th night and new location during my visit and I was getting pretty frustrated trying to find a comp I was happy with. This spot definitely hit for me at sunset. Thanks for the feedback!

I think that comp works very well Shayne. That foreground ridge really sweeps you into the rest of the scene. I love the way the red knolls makes a Y-shape. Normally I look for a diagonal to lead into the image, and I’d love to see this same area with that ridge running into the scene as a diagonal instead of straight. This works well enough though, I suspect I would prefer this.
