Image Description

I have worked with this heron every morning and evening. For over a month to earn his trust. I was about six feet away creating this image.

That’s one mean looking Great Blue Heron, Steve. I wouldn’t want to cross it. The kind of gritty looking processing really conveys a different look.

I think this is a really stunning image.

A minor thing I noticed - to me there is a sort of halo around the heron, I’m not sure if the exposure has been adjusted around it or something, or whether this is just natural in the image. Either way I’d suggest trying to blend that out a bit with a brush.

That’s a striking image, Steve! The detail in the feathers is remarkable, and you’ve really captured the intensity in the bird’s gaze. The muted background helps to focus all attention on the subject. It’s a fantastic composition overall, nice one!!

Definitely an impactful image of the heron. Great detail and the dark background lets the heron pop. Love that stare. Excellent job; your patience paid off.

Steve: beautiful capture of the darks in the bird as well as the background. I really like how the lthe left eye is so prominent givng the bird a mean/serious look. This one is a wall hanger. Great!

I can’t add much to the conversation on this one Steve, other than it is intense and really well done. What a look!
