I managed to catch this Green Darner (Anax junius) in flight as it patrolled one of the smaller ponds at a local Wildlife Refuge. This is a full frame view, although I used “content aware” to shift it’s position in the frame (it was originally low and a bit right)
7D2, 100-400 IS II @ 400 mm, 1/2500 s, f/9, iso 3200, hand held, with noise reduction in LR 6.

Oh wow, Mark, this is really great. I have tried a few times with dragonflies in flight, and failed every time, so I really appreciate this shot. It wasn’t easy, that is for sure. Great detail in the Darner, and a nice soft background. Well done!
