Green Thorntail

My guidebook lists 50 different species of hummingbirds in Costa Rica. We probably saw and photographed over half of them. This Green Thorntail was photographed in the old butterfly garden along with the Black Crested Coquette and the Snowcap posted by Chuck recently on these pages.

Great shot David, the pose, perch, and very clean background-along with a terrific look at the tail, all very well captured!

Looks as if you had a great trip. Nice pose and perch; well composed. That green head really stands out.

This is super, David. The detail in the bird and perch is just awesome, and you got a very nice head turn to boot.
