I know I have posted a good many green herons from the state park pond here lately but I thought this funky looking bird was worth another look. Also love the colors of this individual in the early morning light.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a green heron or any heron for that matter with a top crop like that.
Excellent detail on the image with great color . I sure wish they would get that close for me.
But I have to do with what I’ve got, which is in bad.

They will puff up their crest on occasion and the morning light looks good. The BG is varied with subtle changes in color and complements the scene. Very nice with no nits…Jim
