Excellent series again, Allen. The last with the dragonfly is wonderful for the action alone.

Hi Allen
The Green Herons look great, and I love the last shot with the Dragonfly.

Running out of superlatives here… all are great and the last also is my favorite. All with nice poses, colours, and BG
Another excellent series.. thanks for sharing all of these.

LOL, Thanks! and sorry – one of my favorite birds!

Allen

Really nice lighting in these images. Looks like they’re taking late afternoon as the sun was going down. Looks to me like you got the light in the right place and those green heron
and eyes really stand out. Well. As with everyone else, the last image is exciting. It’s nice to see what these guys eat. Good work!

It’s a good year for dragonflies and I think the Green Herons agree! As the summers get hotter, we seem to be getting more dragonflies. As Dennis suggested earlier, time for a heron/df duet macro. Great capture, number 3.

Mine too- but I don’t think I have even SEEN one for years. Keep them coming, please!

Wow! A great set of images Allen! All are wonderful, but I really like the second. I’m not sure if its the pose or the light . The third with the dragonfly dinner is outstanding.

We have Striated Herons here that look pretty similar but I certainly haven’t photographed them as well as this!
