Seen one spring at a nearby NWR.

Beautiful light, Allen, and I really like the composition. The focus and depth of field look perfect except for the side of the face, which looks oddly blurred and that just doesn’t seem to make sense from the geometry of the image. It’s a wonderful image, but that one area has me puzzled.

Hi Dennis and thanks for the comment. Unless viewed extremely up close, dragonfly eyes often have a blurry look to them. Perhaps due to the compound structure - that’s my guess for the reason anyway.

Allen, the color coordination between her wings and her perch is special. It’s also nice that the entire image is nicely color coordinated.
