These are such soft and delicate flowers with subtle colors. The sharpness and DOF looks good. I hate to have a negative reaction but I’d love to see a version with softer contrast and a little more breathing room in the frame.
I really like the way the flowers are floating in the frame, Sandy. I could see more room for them, though they don’t need much. I also agree with @Diane_Miller that a bit less contrast might give the flowers a softer feel.
Sandy, the flowers are lovely. I’m fine with the contrast and tight framing. I do feel like the heavy darkness along the top doesn’t fit the rest of the view. You might also try a slight burning-in on the flower in the lower right. The water drop at the bottom is a fine extra as are the harder to see drops in some of the petals.
I love the flowers of Hawaii, especially Plumeria. The colors are amazing. I like this image just as is. The tight framing and contrast serve to emphasize their beauty. Usually it is difficult to find a group of them like this without some defect. Love it.
I’m going to agree with @Jim_Gavin on this Sandy. I’m a sucker for the rich colors you have in this image. I like the floating feel of this with the darker BG/framing.
Hi Sandy. Since you’ve edited your title to indicate a repost, you know how to get in the edit mode. When there, just put your cursor at the top of the text in your post and use the upload arrow in the toolbar at the top of the post to upload your new image. At the same time you can label both images as to which is new and which is old.
I agree that the re-edit is a better photo since it feels cohesive and on purpose - as if you gave it thought and careful treatment instead of rushing, which is how the first one feels. Nice.
