Parkinson’s disease

Besides Dennis Plank and Peter Morrissey, I think you two are the only other ones who are regularly aware of what’s going on with my health.

So I sent Peter Morrissey the email discussing what’s going on. Included a few other people.

There’s a long discussion from me about my Parkinson’s in comparison to that of Peter Morrissey. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who had it or knows anyone who has it?
In any case, if you were interested, read the letter attached to Peter Morrissey‘s latest post.

At one point in my career in medicine, over 40 years plus, 30 of those family practice PA, I didn’t see a lot of Parkinson’s but now it seems to be showing up everywhere. I’m more than happy to discuss it if anyone has any questions.

David, I am so sorry to hear of your struggles, and all the worse to be a medical professional and see it from the inside, as it were. I didn’t realize Peter also had it. We lost a good friend to it a couple of years ago after a long struggle, but I wasn’t aware if he had the issues with pain that you have. That is cruelty. I saw something the other day about a new painkiller in some stage of development, I think on a science news section of the New York Times. I’ll try to find it but you may be aware of it.

I’d be interested in any information you have on Parkinsons. My early intentions to go into medicine got sidetracked into research, and during a postdoc at UCSF Medical Center I met my husband and got married and changed course.

So far we are both in good health but realize how fragile and uncertain that is. As long as we have the strength, we are sending hugs to you and Peter!

Thanks, Diane
I really appreciate your comments and concern

David, I am so sorry to hear of your health issues. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing. It does seem like I hear of a lot more cases of Parkinsons these days. I wonder why the uptick in cases and the different variations of it?

If it is okay with you I will be praying for you and @Peter_Morrissey .

I am

Hi David
I sent you some more information concerning our discussion.
Hi Diane & Shirley
If you do not look like Micheal J. Fox it can take up to 1 and half years to convince a doctor you have Parkinson’s. There is a very large range of things that can go wrong in your body and mind. My brand like to shut down, from looking at the blades on a windmill go round, to doing new thing in Tai-Chi. The good thing is, for the most part that is under control. Now I just need to keep up with balance and walking gate. Thank god for Tai-Chi and Rock Steady Boxing.
Peter
Shirley praying is always good.

I think I tried to send you a reply Peter, but I don’t know if you got it.
