Description
The photograph frames a striking rock formation within Bouddi National Park. Here, the rock’s pronounced layers provide a record of time, etched into its surface. The curvature of the land leads the eye gently towards this natural sculpture, standing resilient under the vast sky’s delicate cloud patterns. This landscape, resilient against the elements, mirrors the cultural endurance of the park’s indigenous heritage. Bouddi National Park is recognized not just for its natural beauty but also as a custodian of rich Aboriginal cultural heritage, preserving ancient engravings and evidence of early life that echo the enduring nature of the landscape depicted.
I like how the sweep of the sandstone (?) takes the eye around and up over the ledge and continues in the cloud formation. That composition works nicely. Perhaps opening up the shadows in the front of the ledge might reveal some rock detail that would be of interest. Also, it looks like the sweep of the rock in the bottom edge has been cut off - is there room in the original to record this? That might help the continuity of the dark curve. A very nice image overall.
Thanks Robert, I’ll take a look at the shadows, I think I should be able to pull out a bit more detail. The shot was a pretty tight, so not much left down the bottom. Thanks for the input appreciate it.
