This is an old image, taken in 2004. I’ve never been happy with the processing, it always had a color cast that I couldn’t get rid of. Now comes Capture One Pro and it has a feature where you can auto adjust the levels for each individual channel. So I tried that here and this was the result. To me it seems that the colors are what I remember…it was taken at 8pm in May, 2004, so it’s a long exposure during blue hour.

It has been a few years since I have been there, but it looks like I remember it. Other lighthouses on the coast seem to have red roofs but , if I remember correctly, these are more of a magentaish (is this a word?) color. Excellent exposure.
An excellent image here, David. As always, the images can be adjusted toward our own personal liking or as natural a look as we can recall. As outlined in your comment. Regardless of any color cast point I do like the scene as posted with diagonal flow from the URHC…
A very nice composition and it looks as if should be. I like that you have the light (during the time exposure) lighting up the backside of the scene. The lighthouse is in my neck of the woods and I’ve photographed it many times, usually trying to time it to get the light shining at the camera. Never thought to do a time exposure. Duh! Always learning something at NPN; look forward to trying this technique soon.
Great composition, with strong diagonals and excellent use of negative space in the upper left quadrant. I also love the look of the water, the long exposure worked it’s magic in that regard too.
I like the end result of your color processing, the cool colors create a wonderful twilight look.
