The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
House Finches are common here all year but I’ve been seeing more at the feeders lately, probably because I started putting out black sunflower seed. This young oak is near one of the feeders and a favorite perch, but it’s not common to get a clear shot through the tangled branches.
Specific Feedback
All comments welcome! I’n not delighted with the OOF branch growing out of the head. A slight crop from the top might mitigate it a little… but enough? Not difficult to just remove it.
Technical Details
Slight shadow-highlight adjustments in LR, and a crop to about 30% of the original frame. Very minor edge cleanup in PS.

A little housekeeping of house finch (cloning out head branch, that bit along right edge and pale spots on leaf to left) and you have an excellent image, Diane. Beautiful, rich red.
Thanks, @Mike_Friel and @glennie! I did get a bit lazy on this one. A redo is posted above, and the pruning made a crop from the top look good. Thanks for the nudge!
Wow, that is some shot made better by the disappearing branches. Great breeding colors and the detail is fantastic as always. Great contrasting colors really pull it together. Very natural and engaging.
Thanks, @glennie, @Kris_Smith, @Dennis_Plank, @SandyR-B and @Allen_Brooks! I’m always reluctant to “improve” an image too drastically but I agree that the changes had a good result. These are such common birds here that I don’t get as excited about them as I do about rarer ones.
