The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
All along my 6-weeks trip in the Balkans, I looked for hazy, blue landscapes. This was, I think, one of the best ones. It does not add anything to the picture to know that is was taken along the Adriatic coast of Croatia. Except to say that this coastline with its very many islands, is one of the richest and challenging regions I have seen thus far.
Specific Feedback
Is the boat a plus? Or should I remove it? Does it create a counterpoint that outweighs the attractivity of a uniforme blue frame?
Any ideas on the contrast overall and in different places inside the picture are also very welcome.

Hi Xavier! This is a beautiful scene with an excellent composition. I love the cool colors. The mist on the water works very well to highlight the hills on the right. The low clouds obscuring the most of the mountains is also a very nice element. I also really like that you’ve included the boat. It adds scale and I really like that it’s right on the break of light to darker water. Well done!
Ditto what Steve said! I think the boat 100% absolutely adds to the image. The image would work beautifully without, but the boat actually adds and tells a story.
The contrast is perfect; especially the “contrast” between the contrast of the boat and the ocean/landscape - if that makes any sense…
Beautifully seen and captured. No nits or suggestions.
Xavier: This reminded me of a very similar scene I shot in Alaska many years ago. For me the boat makes the shot. It gives the scale needed to appreciate the overall grandeur of the scene and without it you would have a nice image for the layering alone but having that one small element so superbly placed in the frame makes this so much better IMO. >=))>
Definitely KEEP the boat. It very much makes the picture for me. It would still be a nice image without the boat in a minimalist kind of way but I love the expanse of empty water and the boat gives the scene perspective and scale. You had incredible conditions for this shot. The low hanging cloud/fog the soft floating cloud cover and just a wisp of the background mountains trying not to get totally obscured by the fog. I love the light sheen on the water as well. The slight pano crop works well.
Wonderful image and beautifully captured. I like the layers that recede into the fog and clouds. The monotone quality is restful. The boat added a focal point to be sure and can be part of the story. However, I would also like it without the boat. This would make it have a more abstract quality.
Hi Xavier,
Yes, definitely keep that fishing boat as it adds a nice sense of scale to this lovely landscape. I quite like the cool blue tones and their different shades of gradation throughout the image. The subtle light is a huge plus for this scene as the light fog/mist in the distance along the horizon line. No suggestions from me as this is beautifully done!
