Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 700mm, 1/1600, ISO 500. The shot is cropped by 50% and I decreased the highlights, midtones, blacks and increased the color saturation in DXO PhotoLab 6.
Cute to see one with such a little branch! Must be tricky to hang onto it. Lovely pose and tonalities look great. Hard to be sure at this size but there may be a bit of motion blur on the catchlight? With today’s NR software I’d risk a higher ISO and faster SS for flight.
A fine image, Peter. I like the stick-it has a cool curve to it. I’m not sure about motion blur. I’d think that 1/1600 would be adequate for an Osprey in level flight.

Thank you for the comments. The 1/1600 setting was used for some still earlier in the day and I just remember to reset it.
