This Egret is one of the group of Egrets in the same pond at Hammonasset Beach State Park, Ct. The Snowy gave me two nice shots before leaving the pond.

Pertinent technical details or techniques:

Canon 7DII, Sigma 150-600mm, 421 & 408mm F7.1 & F8, 1/4000, ISO 640. The fast shutter speed is a product of the clouds changing be for each shot. June 26, 8:13, 8:27 AM. In DxO Photo Lab I cropped the first shot by 5% and the second by 30% and reduced the contrast in the second shot.

Both shots look really good, Peter. The top of the tail looks like it might be a little hot in the second image, but not a deal breaker. The pattern of drops at the end of the beak is awesome in the second.

Hi Peter,

The second one is very nice. Whites are on the edge, but still have detail. The water drops and splash are very sharp. I like the pose of the snowy and your comp. Well done…Jim

Looks good, Peter! Good control of the highlights and good detail. The second one is much more dynamic and interesting plus it has a better reflection.
