Description

My favourite variety of duck; The Plumed Whistlers. They frequent a murky little pond by a cattle sale yard. I liked how the Wood Duck at the end of the line was hiding in plain sight.

Hi Glenys
Thank you for bringing us these Plumed Whisler. Love the Wood Duck at the end of the line. Very nice framing with good eye contact and feather detail.
Peter

This is a wonderful array of ducks, Glennie. It’s almost unbelievable that you managed to get that many birds to look your way at the same time and have nice separation for their heads. One of those crazy, magical moments when we’re usually not ready for it, but you were. If I absolutely had to come up with a nit for this one, it would be those two grass blades just to the right of the wood duck.

What a wonderful capture!! All said above – no nits from here, either. Congratulations on the EP – very well-deserved!

LOL! This is great! Getting them all in a good pose is sweet. Perfect title, too - “no one will notice me, right?” Love the detail and environment. Nice EP! Congrats!

Really nice group shot Glenys. Love the orange eye on the whistlers and great to see each one. Nice depth of field. Pleasing collection here including the outlier.

Lovely shot - they have beautifully marbled bills. Congrats!

Thank you everyone! Your comments are appreciated.

Awesome capture, Glennie!

The timing was great and the imposter certainly adds to it, making it an “Odd duck conversation piece”.

I only get to view photos of these particular creatures since they’re native to areas south of the equator and I’m well north of the equator. :slightly_smiling_face:

No nits from me at all, this is great as it is IMHO!

Congrats on the Editors Pick, it was well deserved!

Wonderful ! Beautiful ducks, new to me, and a rare arrangement, so perfect for your capture. Congrats on the EP, that was leading my eye to this great shot. Never seen bills like these.
The Wood Duck at the end is the bonus in this image.
No nits for me.
