Image Description
I found this pair of Mycena mushrooms growing out of a fallen redwood. I thought I might as well add an entry for the Weekly Challenge early in the week rather than at the end.
But I always saw this image as like a child next to its parent, standing in the shadow of the parent kind of looking up and hoping to aspire to something greater.

Wonderful find! And yes, the posture of the little one conveys an emotion! The composition contributes to that good feeling. It looks like the pulling did a good job for taming contrast. (When was the last time I ever thought about pushing or pulling film development?)
It feels as though there is a bit of red cast. I played with Curves to reduce that in the shadows.
Youssef, the big/small pairing is very attractive and thought provoking. The mushrooms and the log are nicely sharp, showing the fine detail associated with medium (or large) format film. You’re a rare one, developing your own film. I agree with Diane that this look a bit too red
A very beautiful composition and the two different sized mushrooms really made it work, Youssef. Nicely done.
