Incoming Osprey

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I’ve been going through Costa Rica images and came across this one that I hadn’t paid much attention to, largely because it’s a very substantial crop. However, I think it held up reasonably well, so I thought I’d post it.

Specific Feedback

Is the image quality sufficient for web?

Technical Details

Sony A1 FE 200-600 + 1.4 TC @ 596 mm (not sure why I hadn’t zoomed in all the way), f/9, 1/2000, iso 1600. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 3013x2263. Taken February 22nd.

Nice head on look Dennis. I don’t know how you get them to come after you like that. Fish? It does look just a touch hazy to me for some reason.

Dennis - this looks quite good from here. Great head-on pose and eyes. A little additional selective sharpening to the head and eyes might help a little. Osprey are found on every continent, but they still are spectcular birds.

Hi Dennis
Nice head on photograph of this Osprey, the coloring and feather detail look good.

Hi Dennis, I like this pose and the head on look is great. I think the image quality works for web presentation even though at full size I can see some degradation on the head I believe. Still a fine image.
