This is a local paper/chemical plant and when it starts to look like rain, or is raining, they dump everything they can into the air.

I looked to see in the description which year in the 1960’s or ‘70’s this was taken. But I think it is current, which is kind of shocking to me! Unless all the smoke is just steam. That can’t be good old fashion pollution, can it?

It was taken about two years ago just before a huge thunderstorm rolled in…is it all steam, judging from the smell, I’d say not likely. The folks around here call it the Smell of Money because for a long time, that was the largest employer in the county.
