Description
We have maintained a patch of Cala Lilies almost since we moved into our house in 2003. They have survived hurricanes, drought and freezes. This is one of my earliest cala images and one I still like a lot. Taken with my first DSLR which is long gone but the 200mm macro is still around.

Lovely Calla image @Bill_Fach, My favorite flower by far. Have you thought about bringing the background down a bit? Especially the reflection above the bloom. It would make it pop more and let you avoid overcooking the inside of the beautiful petal and let you show more detail there.
The curve in the Calla is great. My only critique is the very bright white portion, it feels like it is blown out as it lacks any detail. Could that be saved in RAW processing?
Youssef: I went back and was able to tease out a bit more detail although there’s not much there to tease. Also got rid of some noise and toned down the lighter area on the BG leaf. Some of the lack of detail comes from the narrow DOF. I wanted the plane of focus to catch the tip and the petal edges. Here’s the refined version.
The repost is a marked improvement. Even thought there was not much detail to pull out, there is some and it is not just a blown out area. The curve of the petal edge is wonderful and it leads the eye nicely. The elegance in nature is unsurpassed. We just need to open out eyes to it and then our shutters.
Bill, you filled the frame very well (and dynamically) with this bloom. The edge of purple and the white lip stand out as planned. The subtle details in the repost are good.
