As the light was fading on the mountains around me this little plant in he middle of the river caught my eye.

My workflow remains quite haphazard despite my pledge to be more systematic as I approach an image to process. I’m not sure that I am happy with this image. Any thoughts

“Island in the Stream” - a title and image that brings visions of Kenny and Dolly…
And if you’re to young to get the reference, be happy.
Haha. Yes i am old enough to remember the Kenny and Dolly duo. Made me pause about the name but what the heck. Ok i deleted and re-loaded the image so I am ready for comments.
Thanks
Very well seen, John. I think I would like to see a tighter crop of the image to showcase the island. Maybe something like this below. I added some curve adjustment layers to tone down the brightest whites, reduced the contrast (if you use luminosity masking, L2 mask seems to do the trick), and added some dodging and burning to emphasize the island. What do you think?
Adhika. I like what you have done. I need to look at it a little longer but that seems to have resolved some of my hesitation about this image. Thanks for the suggestions.

John,
Thanks for fixing the post so we can see.
I’ll pretty much echo Adhika’s comments and his crop is EXACTLY what I was thinking too. Not only bring more focus on the island, but the whole lower left quadrant with the beautifully flowing water is where all the interest of this image is. Yes, I think the flow of the stream from up top works in terms of flow of the overall scene and I think what you’ve captured and presented works well. The crop though I think just tightens things up and brings more emphasis to the more important elements.
thank for posting!
