This was my first trip down to Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford, CT., this year and this Blue turned out to be the only series of shot I came away with. There just doesn’t seem to be many birds around at this time of year. By the way the bend in the grass is from the wind, not rolling shutter.

Technical Details

Canon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 1/1600, -.7EV, ISO1250. The shot is cropped by 60% and I used 2 local control points to adjust the exposure and saturation on the Blue. I also adjusted the overall midtones and shadows in DXO PhotoLab 6

Great shot. If it were mine, I’d try cropping off the water on the bottom and see what you think.

Nice flight shot, and contrary to Dave’s suggestion, I would add some more water (if available in the original frame that is). Otherwise fine as presented. Cheers, Hans

Nice, shot Peter. They do all 3 work, but I think I like the one without the water best.

I like the small strip on water it makes a more interesting balance.
