Jasper Bighorn Ram - New Series Order

Resting Bighorn Ram

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Just East of Jasper township I saw this ram walking near this rocky area. It walked right by me/our van, and then on up the hill. Pretty soon a train came pounding by. This ram apparently has seen trains before and had no problem with it roaring on by. It just sat down right next to the track up on that hill.

Specific Feedback

Any comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Ed: these are 2 fine photos of the ram. It looks like the light was pretty harsh which has resulted in a very bright background. I think a mask on the bg to tone it down would work. Also, on the upper photo, a bit more room at the bottom would help as the rear hoof is cut off.

Thank you @Richard_Sandor. I think the hind foot is behind the ridgeline, but I know it is too tight in the frame anyway. I was shooting with the lens backed as far out as possible. Full disclosure, I added just a bit more of the rock on top to get a bit more room up there. I gues I can add some at the bottom. Thank you for helping me with this.
