Description

It was a cloudless, blue sky day, walking on the beach in Southern California, I was looking for patterns, shapes, or textures. This seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

B&W Image !!! The Tone the Light, It all works…Really cool and interesting.

Bullwhip kelp is under-appreciated, imho. I like the dark, oily impression of this, but it does feel a little sinister. Is that the goal? If so, you nailed it. If not, a bit of brightening and texture might would be fun to play with.

Other than that, maybe play with the reflections at the edges (or add a vignette) so the eye doesn’t drift out of the frame.
