On a very hot July 23 morning, I spotted the Mallard on the Back River in Old Lyme, Ct. I have other shots with the duck in more sun light and against the marsh, but I like this simple look.

Cannon R5, Canon 100-500mm & 1.4ext, f10, 700mm, -.3EV, 1/1600, ISO 1000. The shot is cropped by 60% and I adjusted the exposure and mid levels in DXO Photo Lab 5.
