Lake Mist Effect

Tiny cold front moved in last week and when it met the warmer waters of the lake, a fine mist arose off the surface. Nice effect with a rising sun.

This was a tricky one so I fell back on Tony Kuyper’s strong suggestions not to forget the mid-tone corrections which I used on a brightness/contrast adj layer, then some color correction on a light’s mask.

What a beautiful scene! All these shades of yellow, amber, orange in the layers are really cool. And the mist is gorgeous…amplifying the color. Must have been awesome to see and experience.

I like this work. It’s very expressive.

I’m curious about one thing. It says long_exposure but the exposure was 1/30?

Thanks, Igor. My boo-boo, Igor, should have read 1/3, and though not terribly long, too long for hand-held. I changed the listing info.
