Landing Gear Down

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I am continuing to have fun with my “pre-capture” feature in my Z9 and this is one of 19 nice action images I got with one press of a button yesterday. As long as I can keep the subject in the frame…

Specific Feedback

I know the BG’s kinda busy but it doesn’t really bother me. You? Anything else?

Fantastic action shot!!!

The only thing I notice is the bright green area towards the top between his wings. I wonder how darkening that a little would look?

Overall I think it is great!

Dave, nice action shot of this guy. He looks very intent!
The bright whites in the bird, and the brighter green area Elizabeth mentions could stand being dampened a bit.
Good catch!

Nice landing shot Dave. Like Sandy and Elizabeth have mentioned just a bit of darkening could really make the bird stand out.

Nice Dave. The face looks nice and sharp and I love the pose. You’re getting some really nice shots out of this water feature, particularly with this species. However, the whites are tough to handle in the sunlight. You might think about providing some shade over this feature, though you’d still have to watch out for too bright a background.

Terrific capture, Dave. Nice use of that pre-capture mode. Too bad it doesn’t work with Raw files (yet, I hope)…

Nice landing pose coming right at you and good detail.
