Late Blooming Amaryllis

This Amaryllis was bought to bloom around the holidays, but it had its own timeframe in mind. Single shot with just minor PS adjustments.

Luscious is not a word I use very often, but it applies here. For me this is a lesson in composition - and in controlling the whites. I bet it smelt good too.

Beautiful, Patricia. Love how the natural lighting creates such a soft feel to the flower. Very nicely done.

What a nice spring surprise from this Amaryllis! Beautiful photo Patricia.

Beautiful picture, Patricia! As Mike says this is really luscious, and reminds me of close-up flower paintings by Georgia O’Keeffe.

Drop-dead gorgeous says it all!!

I like the overall abstract quality and am impressed what you captured in a single exposure. The amount of white at the top feels a bit excessive to me and a bit of a scroll crop seemed to improve the image slightly.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. They are appreciated.
