Learning to Hunt

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We found this juvenile redtail in a bush just at eye-level. A bloody chin and bloody fur in the talons are evidence of his recent meal.
Several annoying , errant OOF branches removed.

Is this too centered?
There was junk on the right that would have been near-impossible to avoid.

Though the bird is centered, with that main trunk on the left, the composition works and the only way get a conventional composition would be to remove that main trunk completely. I prefer it this way.

Hi Sandy, really fine feather and I like the over the shoulder gaze. Nice exposure. The red in the talons adds interest. I’m fine with this composition. Well done.
